Fernando Paz is Vice President of Operations
Fernando Paz is vice president of operations at Global Cardio Care, a position he has held since 2007. He directs all aspects of medical practice management for the company. He also manages human resources, employee benefits and payroll. He is a qualified EECP technician, and he is certified in the delivery of EECP treatment. He has worked alongside Sara Soulati since 2004, helping in the growth of the company since it was launched in 2002. Originally from Lima, Peru, Fernando began working in the medical field in 1983 as a nursing assistant. In 1985, he worked in hospital admissions followed by medical office management. Prior to Global Cardio Care, Fernando worked at Glendale Memorial Hospital as a pre-admissions coordinator where he was responsible for the completion of insurance verifications and authorizations for inpatient and outpatient surgeries.
Michael Gooch is Consulting Chief Financial Officer
Michael Gooch, CPA joined Hancock Park Associates as vice president of finance in 2002 and is responsible for meeting the reporting requirements of HPA in addition to acting as a liaison with the chief financial officers of the portfolio companies. Michael received his B.S. in business administration with honors from the University of Southern California and is a certified public accountant. Michael operated his own consulting practice for business and accounting for nine years. Previously, he held a variety of controller and audit positions within several operating companies and accounting firms. As a proponent of EECP, Michael encouraged his father to get the treatment, and he knows firsthand about the power of EECP for people with cardiovascular and other diseases.
Jayme Soulati is Chief Marketing Officer
Jayme M. Soulati directs EECP marketing communications and internet marketing along with social media and public relations. She began working with Sara Soulati in 2004 and is the nation's leading marketing expert in the field of EECP. In a previous position, Jayme was director of international cardiology at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Jayme is a past president of the Publicity Club of Chicago and is active as a director on the boards of several non-profits. She graduated in 1984 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with minor studies in German. Her career in public relations includes 18 years working in Chicago's public relations agencies as a strategist and media relations expert. She is a published author, blogger and award-winning practitioner.
Morad “Mo” Soulati is Chief Financial Officer
Morad Soulati joined Global Cardio Care in 2004 and prior to that worked for10 years in business and customer service having worked in such positions in cellular technology retail operations. Morad has held direct sales and management positions in which he was oriented to operational profitability. At Global Cardio Care, he directs billing operations for the company and works to ensure patient medical services are billed to appropriate insurance providers. Morad's earned expertise in EECP insurance claims and billing since 2004 provides him with leading knowledge in this sector. He works with the largest physician practice associated with EECP to ensure patients are well represented when seeking reimbursement for medical services. He was promoted to chief financial officer in summer 2011.
Lynette Fonseca is Manager of Operations
Lynette Fonseca joined Global Cardio Care in February 2011 as a nurse administrator and cardiac technician working in the triage department. Her responsibilities included assessment of patients for their medical needs, management of physician scheduling, diagnostic testing and management of laboratory procedures. In September 2011, she was promoted to manager of operations. In this position, Lynette is responsible for management of office operations, human resources, employee and customer relations, as well as the customer experience. She enjoys learning and the daily challenges of working in an entrepreneurial setting as a young business. Prior, she worked at APEX Cardiology where she managed the back office, ran the nuclear medicine department and was trained on EECP by Sara Soulati prior to her founding Global Cardio Care, Inc. Lynette graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing administration from Sacramento Regent University in 2004.
Octavia Cato, Office Coordinator
Octavia Cato joined Global Cardio Care in March 2007 as a member of the front office staff. Recently, she was promoted to office coordinator and ensures the efficient operation of front desk and office. She is responsible for patient appointments and scheduling; managing patient issues, questions or concerns; and, customer care delivery. Octavia helps manage 15 people in her department. Prior to joining Global Cardio Care, she worked as a medical transcriptionist. Previously, she worked in the funeral industry for Crenshaw Removal Service of Angeles Funeral Home. Octavia has an Associate’s Degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Los Angeles.
Dean Chiaro is Director, Clinic Operations at Global Cardio Care Centers
Dean has a long and impressive career in EECP. He trained with Sara Soulati at Cardiac Renewal in 2001, and he has been working alongside Sara since then delivering EECP patient care for cardiovascular disease and a variety of other illness. Currently, he directs clinic operations at Global Cardio Care Centers and maintains active participation in emergency medicine working as a technician at Garfield Medical Center's emergency room. His extensive knowledge in EECP therapy began in 1999 as an EECP technician, followed by a lead technician and clinical manager. With licenses and certificates in CPR, basic life support, and EKG interpretation, Dean is highly trained in various areas of the delivery of health care services.
Mark Rivera is Director of Outreach Education
Mark Rivera joined Global Cardio Care in 2005. Since his arrival to the company, Mark speaks to community groups throughout the Los Angeles area about the importance of a healthier lifestyle with EECP. Mark directs a department that responds to patient inquiries and also is responsible for outreach education to various groups. His daily work is at the grassroots level, one church at a time, to spread the message about the Global Cardio Care Gift of Life program. Under the direction of Sara Soulati, Mark learned about EECP. He has been a student of Franklin Murphy, MD, cardiologist at UCLA and John Hui, MD, one of the pioneers of EECP. In 2006 he became certified by Vasomedical, Inc. as an EECP technician.
Scott Griffen is Director of the Global Cardio Care Program
As director of the Sara Soulati Gift of Life Program, Scott Griffen meets personally with patients to educate them about the program, discuss insurance options and program costs, coach them about the necessity of EECP treatment to improve disease, and to enhance a healthy lifestyle. Scott ensures the highest standards of health care delivery are met for each patient enrolled in the Global Cardio Care Program. Since 2002, Scott has worked as a certified EECP technician. He has worked in many different clinical positions delivering EECP treatment to patients. His previous employment began in 1992 in an emergency room setting followed by work as a clinical manager for a dialysis clinic in Hawaii. He previously worked alongside Sara Soulati learning the benefits of EECP first hand. Scott attended the University of Hawaii as an undergraduate studying allied health.
Tamla Milton is Office Administrator
Tamla Milton, LPN joined Global Cardio Care in October 2006. She was drawn to the company's mission because of her father's lack of treatment in traditional medicine. She respects Sara Soulati's drive to change lives and promote healthier lifestyle. Tamla directs seven employees and is liaison to various departments at Global Cardio Care including procurement, front office, billing, and human resources. She comes to Global Cardio Care with a solid background in medicine having worked from 1994 to 2004 as a practical nurse and office administrator for an internal medicine physician in the city of Inglewood. Prior, she received training in labor/delivery and emergency medicine at King Drew Medical Center and med/surg at St. Francis Hospital.
Ebony Foster, Manager, Central Billing
Ebony Foster is manager of the central billing office at Global Cardio Care, Inc. She joined the company in April 2010 as a collector, and then was promoted to manager of her department. She currently directs four people and manages all medical insurance, claims and benefits for patients receiving EECP treatment. Prior to joining Global Cardio Care, Ebony worked for three years at Cobalt Health, a third-party billing company. She transferred from the Los Angeles office to Salt Lake City to open the company’s Utah office. At Global Cardio Care, Ebony enjoys her work in a non-traditional medical setting and is dedicated to problem solving, is detailed and able to adjust to the myriad changes relating to insurance and medical claims. Ebony graduated from DeVry University with a business management degree.
Joshua Mac Ferrin, Clinical Manager
Joshua Mac Ferrin joined Global Cardio Care Centers in September 2007, bringing more than 15 years in health care experience to the clinic. As Clinical Manager, he is responsible for the patient-centric delivery of care for those seeking EECP treatment.
Working directly with the clinical director, Josh works one-to-one with patients including lifestyle coaching about nutrition, exercise and weight loss. In addition, he wraps and monitors patients during EECP treatment to track vitals, ensure patient comfort and to coach about positive lifestyle changes. Josh manages staffing and scheduling as well as administrative work pertaining directly to patient care. Prior, Josh worked as a hemodialysis technician at West Coast Dialysis in Long Beach. He brings skills as an emergency medical technician to Global Cardio Care Centers.
Fahmi Youssouf Abdillahi, Clinical Manager
Fahmi joined Global Cardio Care Centers as clinical manager in 2007. His training as an EECP therapist, nutritional advisor and coach allows him to give clients instant feedback on their health and lifestyle. He coaches people to help them understand the power of EECP, and he encourages the adoption of better nutrition and exercise.
Fahmi is proud to work alongside Sara Soulati, his mentor and EECP coach. He sees the difference that Global Cardio Care Centers is making on peoples’ lives. Many clients are overweight or obese and never or seldom exercise. Coupled with pre-existing medical conditions, clients are in need of one-to-one coaching to help them adopt a healthier lifestyle. After 10 treatments of EECP, Fahmi has seen firsthand how clients reduce blood pressure, weight reduction, increased energy, reduced sugar levels, and even a reduction in blood cholesterol.
Fahmi graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College in Wisconsin with associates degrees in liberal arts and television/video production.
